Your Excellencies,

The United Nations has an antisemitism problem, and its leadership has allowed it to become an institutional disgrace.

An organization founded to defend human dignity and universal human rights has become a platform for the systematic vilification of the world's only Jewish state. Its discriminatory structures, repeated moral failures, and tolerance of antisemitic conduct have severely undermined its credibility. Rather than confronting these failures, UN leadership has allowed them to persist behind the language of human rights and international justice.

This is not a series of isolated controversies. It is a devastating indictment of the United Nations and its leadership.

The scale of the UN's obsessive focus on Israel is staggering. Between 2015 and 2024, the General Assembly adopted 173 resolutions concerning Israel, compared with just 80 concerning all other countries combined. At the Human Rights Council, Israel remains the only nation singled out under a permanent agenda item.

This is not impartial human rights advocacy. It is an indefensible system of selective condemnation that institutionalizes discrimination against the Jewish state while undermining the UN's claim to universal justice.

The problem extends far beyond resolutions. The UN has allowed its own authority to be associated with rhetoric that echoes some of history's most dangerous antisemitic accusations.

On June 23, 2026, an independent UN commission accused the Israeli military of deliberately targeting Palestinian children and alleged that its actions constituted genocide. Portraying the Jewish state as deliberately murdering children as a matter of policy evokes the centuries-old antisemitic blood libel. Such grave accusations demand rigorous evidence and impartial investigation, not rhetoric that risks reinforcing historic antisemitic prejudices.

The United Nations must answer for allowing its investigative authority to become associated with narratives that echo centuries of antisemitic demonization.

The conduct of prominent UN officials and independent experts makes this institutional failure even more appalling.

On June 20, 2026, UN Special Representative Vanessa Frazier responded approvingly to an X account that had circulated an image equating the Israeli flag with the Nazi swastika. For a senior UN representative to extend goodwill to an account spreading Holocaust inversion is outrageous and indefensible.

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has invoked comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany, contributing to the normalization of Holocaust inversion under the authority of a UN mandate. Such rhetoric is morally reprehensible, and the failure to ensure meaningful accountability for it is a disgrace.

Most recently, Albanese claimed that Europeans profit from selling dogs to rape Palestinian detainees. This grotesque charge is a barefaced antisemitic blood libel, repackaging Nazi-era demonization as human rights advocacy, and it was met with praise rather than condemnation from within the UN system.

UN Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem claimed that no independent investigation had established rape during Hamas' October 7 attacks, contradicting the UN's own findings that there were reasonable grounds to believe rape and other sexual violence occurred. For an expert entrusted with protecting women to undermine recognition of sexual violence suffered by Israeli victims is an appalling betrayal of her mandate.

Alsalem's response to former Hamas hostage Ilana Gritzewsky, who endured 55 days in captivity, further exposed the disgraceful treatment of Israeli survivors.

What kind of human rights institution tolerates Holocaust distortion, the dismissal of Jewish victims, and the repeated abuse of its own moral authority?

The UN cannot hide behind the technical independence of its experts and commissions. These individuals operate under UN mandates and benefit from the legitimacy of its name. The relevant UN bodies bear responsibility for ensuring that authority is not abused.

The United Nations has spent decades demanding accountability from governments while repeatedly failing to uphold the very standards it demands of others. The hypocrisy is staggering.

An institution that claims to fight discrimination cannot maintain structures that systematically single out Israel. An organization committed to protecting victims cannot tolerate the dismissal of Jewish survivors. And an institution founded in the aftermath of the Holocaust cannot allow the distortion of its history to go unanswered.

We demand immediate and uncompromising action:

The United Nations was founded in the shadow of the Holocaust. The murder of six million Jews shaped the world's commitment to human dignity, and for the institution entrusted with those principles to tolerate discriminatory structures and antisemitic misconduct is an unacceptable betrayal of that legacy.

The UN cannot protect its reputation through silence, procedural excuses, or hollow declarations. It cannot demand justice from the world while refusing to hold itself accountable.

The time for excuses is over. The time for accountability is now.

End the discrimination. Confront antisemitism. Hold those responsible accountable. Anything less is a betrayal of the principles the United Nations was created to defend.
